Peyton Espley-Jones is an American artist and art historian based in France. Her paintings and sculptural works aim to create visual harmonies that mirror the conceptual complexities of nature, people, and experiences. Specifically, she addresses a dichotomy persistent within the female experience — the hauntingly beautiful desire to be seen and the fear of being consumed by the institutions and people that surround us. Deeply referential to poetry and medieval iconography, her work investigates the anguish and longing that accompanies contemporary female love, sacrifice, disillusionment, and the search for the sacred.
In 2020, she earned her B.A. in Art History and Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She then relocated to France and completed her M.A. in Art History in 2023 and her M.F.A. in Painting in 2025 at the American College of the Mediterranean. Her work has been exhibited in France and is held in private collections in both the United States and France.
